I wish someone had told me

I wish someone had told me about the path less travelled by,
When I was standing at a junction, seeking ways to shine and
glorify;
The day when sullen clouds had gathered over fringe of the forest,
Compelling me to retrograde from the path of tyranny and unrest;
The day when zenith pinned a petard in connivance with the horizon,
Trying to thwart my ambitions, handing over to me a chalice of
poison;
The day when wild winds roared and struggled like a beleaguered beast,
Attempting to asphyxiate me, smiting my head brutally west to east;
The day when the canvass of sky was dismally ushering a stalemate,
Mystifying me in the murk, preventing my new ideas to emanate;
The day when din clamor and turbulence broke silence of the sea,
Arresting my soul and spirit, refusing to comply and set them free;
The day when I was yelling and looking for light amidst the canards,
A voice whose echo was abysmal, yet seemed mundane and unheard;
Alas! In the air redolent with these fumes, my soul stirred to
utterance,
And exhorted me to embark on the path less taken to make a
difference.
