Crossing swords

In the hubbub of scams and allegations, a voice stirred to
utterance,
That had been mauled and suppressed, stoking widespread ambivalence;
A voice that had garnered courage to challenge the ‘watchdogs’ of
democracy,
And reverberated in the political arena to establish its legitimacy;
A voice that had plunged deep to scavenge the dreaded political
drain,
In an environment contaminated with malicious stink and stain;
A voice that had entered into a dalliance with the veteran
activists,
Who had been hailed as rabble-rousers and pilloried as opportunists;
A voice that had crossed swords with a voice wallowed in luxury,
Struggling to keep its identity alive amidst all sufferings and
treachery;
A voice that had been echoing, exposing callous and corrupt ‘leaders’,
That had busted and berated the corrupt, donning the role of a
matador;
A voice that commands our support irrespective of religion, caste or
creed,
To efface the memories of hardships, embarking on a journey to succeed.
